Crystal Palace v Brighton – Crystal Palace to Win – 19/20
Crystal Palace have come agonisingly close to the big win that would propel them up the table in recent weeks. Unfortunately for Roy Hodgson and his team, they’ve been unable to see games out from winning positions but things could be different when Brighton visit Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Relegation remains a real threat for both teams even though Brighton are four points better off ahead of the A23 derby. While the Seagulls are happier with their position the extra levels of desperation in the Brighton squad could actually drive them on to the huge performance that their fans have been waiting for.
Palace have players returning from injury and cannot help but be driven on by their passionate fans. It’ll be tight but the home team look good value at 19/20.
Swansea v Everton – Under 2.5 Goals – 4/7
Wayne Rooney summed up the feelings of most Everton fans when he was substituted against Liverpool last weekend. Rooney laid into Sam Allardyce echoing the worries that so many at Goodison Park have about their manager’s negativity.
It’s hard to see things ending well for Big Sam at Everton and he must know that he isn’t likely to be in charge come the new season. Don’t think that will prompt a change in approach from Allardyce though. He’ll head to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday intent on keeping Swansea at bay.
Carlos Carvalhal will be more than happy for a defensive display by Everton. He’ll believe his Swansea team can nick three points in a cagey affair so don’t expect too much goalmouth action.
Burnley v Leicester – Burnley to Win – 13/8
Burnley’s impressive end to the season shows no sign of ending any time soon. The Clarets fought back from a goal down to win their third straight away game and they’ll believe their good run should continue when they return to Turf Moor.
The Turf Moor faithful have been waiting five weeks to see their team but their patience should be rewarded. Leicester have been very disappointing lately and with nothing left to play for it’s tough to imagine they’ll be 100% committed to the cause on Saturday. Sean Dyche’s men certainly will with the potential for European football next season and they are a good price to keep on winning.
Newcastle v Arsenal – Newcastle/Draw Double Chance – 8/11
Rafa Benitez refused to say that Newcastle were now safe from relegation following their win over Leicester last weekend. Deep down he knows that the Magpies are safe and sound but won’t say so until they reach 40 points. They may well reach that mark on Sunday when Arsenal visit St James’ Park.
The Gunners may well have won their last 10 matches against Newcastle but the effects of their trip to Russia on Thursday could make all the difference. Benitez’s side are flying at the moment and should at least avoid defeat.
