Arsenal v Chelsea Betting Tips

Preview

The two coaches are both aiming at a top four finish, that’s probably their minimum target. After finishing second last year, Arsenal should be aiming at the title. Chelsea may have been mid-table last term, but Conte lead Juventus from mid-table to the top in his first season there. While they need Champions League at minimum, their spending also means they have to look at pushing for the big prize.

However, both sides have shown their weaknesses in their opening five games. This has been a tough couple of weeks for Chelsea, which saw them forced in to extra time on Tuesday night. Their league defeat last Friday night at home to Liverpool looked like the kind of display they turned in regularly last season. If things go back to that, it should be an easy win for the Gunners.

Arsenal have clear defensive problems, shown in their 4-3 opening day loss to Liverpool. The Gunners weren’t at their best during the 4-1 win at Hull. At 2-0 up against 10 men the game should have been over, but the Tigers got back in to the game. The closing stages weren’t comfortable for Wenger’s men, they really should have wrapped that one up with half an hour to go.

Betting Verdict

Arsenal showed their attacking talent in their last game, with Alexis Sanchez scoring twice. Chelsea’s recent games have seen them ship two goals against Swansea, Liverpool and Leicester. The Gunners can do the same here, especially now their new signing Lucas Perez has his first for his new club. Given how the Blues have looked at the back, conceding 10 in their first seven, this should be fun for Arsenal’s forwards. Over 1.5 goals for the home side is our main tip here, at 11/10 with BetVictor.

Chelsea’s scoring record has been impressive, and they can continue that here. Given how Arsenal struggle to close out games, and they’ve been poor at the back most of the season, we see a goal for the Blues. While we’re backing the Gunners to come out on top, it’s likely to come through outscoring their opponents. We’re backing a win for the hosts, with both teams getting on the scoresheet. That’s priced at 16/5 with Coral.
