Will England score against France on Tuesday 17th November?
England haven’t had a great record against France in recent times. They did draw 1-1 with them at Euro 2012, but they lost the three matches prior to that. It is worth noting, however, that England have only failed to score against France once in their last five meetings (a 1-0 defeat in March 2008 when a Franck Ribery penalty was the difference between the sides).
France did manage to beat Germany 2-0 in Paris on Friday – a match that could have turned into a real disaster due to the attempted terrorist atrocities at the stadium – and they are probably just about favourites to win the match. But we do think that Hodgson’s men will have enough about them to at least score at Wembley.
The Three Lions failed to roar in Alicante against Spain on Friday, limping to a 2-0 defeat, and we are likely to see a more adventurous approach on home soil. With a number of players trying to cement their positions in the squad ahead of the Euros next summer, we certainly think England will not lack effort, and with the French side likely to suffer some psychological ill-effects from the Paris tragedy that is still so fresh in the memory, backing England to find at least one goal looks a sensible course of action, not least because the value of the 4/1 odds is indisputable.
So if you don’t already have a betting account with Betfair, get over there now and grab this fine price of 4/1 for England to score against France tonight.
