Will Ruby Walsh Ride a Winner on Day One of the Cheltenham Festival – Tuesday 15th March 2015
Ruby Walsh is one of the greatest National Hunt jockeys ever, and he particularly thrives at the Cheltenham Festival where he has been the top jockey on no fewer than nine occasions, including the last three years and in eight of the last 10.
He has formed a formidable partnership with champion trainer Willie Mullins (who you can back at massive odds of 8/1 to get a winner at the Festival with Coral!) and the pair have some cracking horses lined up once again this year.
As things stand, Walsh has a very good chance of winning you this bet in the very first race of the opening day of the Festival, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. It is a race the jockey has won in each of the last four years and this year he has the pick of two of the leading contenders for glory, Min and Yorkhill.
If things don’t go his way in the opening race, he is nailed on for success in the second race, the Arkle, in which he will be in the saddle for one of the hottest favourites of the entire Festival, Douvan – currently priced at around 2/5.
With wonder mare Annie Power his stead for the Champion Hurdle and hot favourite Vroum Vroum Mag his ride for the Mares’ Hurdle, we think it almost inconceivable that Ruby Walsh will end the day without at least two winners, let alone one!
So if you don’t already have a betting account with Betfair, this could be a nice way to open one: with a dead cert of a bet at very tasty odds!
