Chelsea v Norwich Betting Preview, Saturday 21st November 2015
Chelsea are the 2/5 favourites to get the three points on Saturday against newly promoted Norwich City. And that is despite the Canaries being a point and a place above Jose Mourinho’s men in the Premier League table!
It has been obvious that not only have Chelsea been underperforming, but they have also had their fair share of bad luck along the way. Last time out against Stoke they were the better team for most of the match and were unlucky not to have won. A draw would have been harsh, but to lose must have really, really upset Mourinho (it was probably just as well he was serving a stadium ban and thus couldn’t give his post-match opinions… or he might have faced further sanctions from the FA!).
Norwich are not having a great season either, of course, but then the expectation levels at Carrow Road are so far below those at Stamford Bridge that the fans are happy enough that their side remain out of the relegation zone. But it is worth noting that they have managed just one win on the road this term – at lowly Sunderland. Having said that, they did earn draws at both Liverpool and West Ham.
Chelsea have won six of the last eight league matches against Norwich, the other two (including their last encounter at the Bridge) ending in 0-0 draws. But we have the strong conviction that the international break will have served to settle Chelsea players and coaching staff somewhat and we anticipate a return to something like the Chelsea of last season against Norwich.
Of course, you really just never know in this wonderful game of football, but odds of 4/1 for the Chelsea victory – enhanced from 2/5 – scream value. And given that the bookie will refund your stake as a free bet if your bet loses, this really could be the bet of the weekend.
So if you don’t already have a betting account with Betfair, get over there today, get signed up and make a tidy profit when Chelsea beat Norwich.
