BetVictor Million Pound Bet – How does it work?
- It is a leaderboard based competition that will be going on for the duration of the World Cup: 14th June to 15th July 2018.
- To participate you need to have a betting account with BetVictor and you must place a single bet of £1.00 or more on any World Cup market.
- If your bet wins, it will go on the Million Pound Bet leaderboard and if it has the largest odds of all winning bets at the World Cup you will be the winner (or joint winner) of the guaranteed prize of £1 million!
- As well as the big Million Pound prize, there will be 25 daily competitions on the 25 matchdays of the 2018 World Cup. If you top the daily leaderboard (by winning the bet with the biggest odds) you’ll win (or share) £5,000.
Here’s a little tutorial video to explain things a bit more. It’s pretty straightforward though. Be sure to familiarise yourself with the full terms and conditions on the BetVictor website.
What big odds World Cup bets could come in?
So clearly winning a million quid will be high on many a punter’s wish list. But this is going to be easier said than done. In order to get the top prize you have to place a SINGLE bet with the biggest odds – that means no accumulator or other multiple bets.
Of course, the greater the odds of a given bet the less likely it is of actually coming in (bookies aren’t mugs, after all). So balancing your chances of winning your bet with a big price will be crucial in this one.
After a quick scoot through the World Cup markets at the BetVictor betting site, here are some of our favourite big-odds World Cup bets that might, just might give you a chance of landing at least a £5,000 daily prize, if not the big million pound prize itself in some of the early games of the tournament.
Russia v Saudi Arabia: Fahad Al-Muwallad to score in both halves at 150/1
Okay, the Saudis lost 3-0 to Peru in a friendly recently, but if you are looking for a big odds bet, you could do worse than this bet. The Saudi Arabia 23 year old Fahad Al-Muwallad has scored 10 goals in 44 games for his country and with Russia under pressure to perform on home soil, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Fahad Al-Muwallad could get on the scoresheet either side of half time.
Egypt v Uruguay: Ahmed Elmohamady to score before 15.00 minute at 125/1
Egypt are perceived by many to be a one-man team, and there is no doubt that Mohamed Salah is the star man. But with most attention being focussed on the Liverpool star, we are backing Villa man Ahmed Elmohamady to score in the first 15 minutes of his side’s opening match. It’s a long shot, but you never know!
Portugal v Spain: Bruno Alves to score after 60 minutes at 200/1
You are probably getting the idea of where the big odds bets are coming from… i.e. that that really aren’t that likely to happen. So ultimately it’s about taking a punt with a £1.00 bet and crossing your fingers. Here we are imagining a bit of glory for the Portugal stalwart Bruno Alves – he’s netted 11 times for his country and he might just spring up late on in this one!
France v Australia: Tim Cahill to score after 75 minutes at 200/1
Tim Cahill is as likely a late scorer as many at Russia 2018 and at 200/1 we fancy he could be worth a punt to get on the scoresheet in the closing stages against France. Les Bleus have the propensity towards occasional defensive lapses, so even if they win the game they are often liable to concede – and Cahill could the man to help us make a tidy profit and give us a fighting chance of a daily prize!
