Chelsea v Southampton Betting Preview – Tuesday 25th April 2017
As mentioned, Chelsea have suffered a couple of recent setbacks in their quest for the Premier League title. They lost at home to Crystal Palace on 1st April and then they went down 2-0 at Old Trafford against Man United on 16th April – a result former Blues boss Jose Mourinho clearly loved!
Aside from the Palace defeat, Chelsea have only lost once more on home soil in the league this term, against Liverpool back in September. They have won all their other home matches, and we can see them getting another three points in this one.
Southampton – who are currently in ninth position in the table – have had a mixed bag of a season. They have tended to struggle against sides above them in the table and they haven’t beaten any of the current top seven teams away from home.
The Saints don’t tend to travel too well, but notable exceptions have been away victories over Watford and West Ham. Chelsea, of course, are a different prospect.
After overcoming Tottenham in a highly exciting FA Cup semi final at Wembley on Saturday, Conte’s men will be high on confidence. They know they simply need to focus on getting the last few wins under their belts and they’ll be crowned champions.
