Are Coral’s Enhanced Odds Offers Good Value?
Coral frequently offer enhanced odds but as said they do also offer a bet £5, get £20 free welcome offer. You can opt to claim that if you prefer so you are faced with a choice.
The standard welcome deal gives you a guaranteed £20 of free bets. For just a £5 stake that’s brilliant value. It’s a 400% free bet that gives you a total of £25 of bets for just £5 of your own cash.
The 25/1 City offer doesn’t guarantee you anything but on balance we have to say we think it’s the better deal. First of all, you’re only risking £1. So no matter what happens, the worth case scenario means you lose a quid!
However, the up side is that you could land £25 of free bets. That’s an extra £5 of freebies compared to the normal welcome promotion. What’s more, given City are at home and some bookies make them as short as 1/7, the likelihood is that they will win.
The £20 free bet offer has minimum odds of 1/2 (1.5 in decimal odds). That’s still low but lots of 1/2 shots lose. Of course, even at 1/5, City might not win. But we think they will and the bookies obviously think they will.
So, why not risk a quid on City and see if you can land a 1/5 winner at odds of 25/1!
Man City v Lyon Preview and Betting Tips, Wednesday 19 September 2018
Man City are no longer able to fly under the radar in the Champions League. Since being knocked out of the group stage on their debut in the competition in the 2011/12 season, the Citizens have become major players in Europe and go into this season as the bookies’ favourites for the Champions League.
City are clearly one of the strongest teams in Europe but they crashed out of this competition with big losses in each of the last two seasons. Pep Guardiola will be desperate for his team to get over the first hurdle of the group stage with as little fuss as possible and it all begins on Tuesday night when the unpredictable Lyon visit the Etihad.
- Man City -2 Goal Handicap at 13/10 with Betfair
- Leroy Sane to Score First at 11/2 with BetVictor
Man City v Lyon Preview
The fact that Man City are available at odds of just 1/7 in places to win on Wednesday night tells you a great deal about the relative strength of these two teams. City romped home in the Premier League last term as Pep Guardiola’s methods really started to have an impact while Lyon were finishing third in Ligue 1, some 15 points behind PSG.
That does not mean that Les Gones are a team without quality. Memphis Depay has come on leaps and bounds since leaving Man Utd. Bertrand Traore is an effective and versatile forward and Moussa Dembele is finding his feet following his move from Celtic. It’s just that Man City are stronger all over the pitch.
Everybody in world football knows just how tough it is to stop a Pep Guardiola team in full flight. Man City were the best team in England by a huge distance last season but they also blew teams away in the Champions League before being abruptly stopped in their tracks by Liverpool. The addition of Riyad Mahrez in the summer and the return of Benjamin Mendy to full fitness make City an even tougher proposition this season.
Stats, Injuries and Suspensions
This is the first meeting between Man City and Lyon in UEFA competition. City do have a decent record against French sides which reads two wins, two draws and a defeat. Guardiola will be very keen for his team to improve a run of form which has brought four defeats in their last five European games but he may have to take Lyon on without Sergio Aguero and Benjamin Mendy, both of whom have knocks.
Man City v Lyon: Our Verdict
Domestically, nobody enjoys the prospect of a match against Man City. That fear factor doesn’t quite yet exist on the continent and that is something that Pep Guardiola wants to change. He knows he can’t control the atmosphere at the Etihad (which will never compare to the most daunting away trips in Europe) but he can control matters on the pitch. Man City can ratchet up the fear factor with a big win on Tuesday night which is why they are worth backing with a two goal handicap at 13/10 with Betfair.
After a strong performance against Fulham on the weekend, Leroy Sane said he understands that he has plenty of room for improvement. It’s impressive that the German international is taking criticism on the chin and after missing out on the World Cup he should emerge from a tough few months a better player. Sane can prove himself again on the big stage by scoring first against Lyon at 11/2 with BetVictor.
Whilst we think those two tips offer amazing value, they don’t quite compare to backing City at 25/1. If you don’t have an account already with Coral, hit the button below to claim your 25/1 deal!
