Chelsea v Arsenal Betting Tips and Preview
Okay, so this is clearly a very good offer from Coral, but should you put your money on Chelsea or Arsenal?
Ordinarily we would put our fiver straight on Jose Mourinho’s men given his side’s recent dominance over the Gunners. Arsenal have lost five of their last six league visits to Stamford Bridge (the exception being their fantastic 5-3 victory in October 2011 – when Andre Villas-Boas was in charge at the Bridge!). But could the pre-season victory Arsenal gained over Chelsea in the Community Shield be significant? Perhaps.
Add to that the fact that Chelsea have made their worst start to a top-flight season since 1986, and suddenly the prospect of an Arsenal win doesn’t look too far-fetched.
Having said that, Chelsea looked to finally find some form when they hammered Maccabi Tel Aviv 4-0 at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League in the week, with Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas, Oscar and Willian all getting on the scoresheet. Eden Hazard still looked out of sorts, but if the Belgium also finds his scoring touch, the Blues will suddenly look rather formidable once more.
Arsenal, in contrast, went down 2-1 to Dinamo Zagred in the Croatian capital, a demoralising defeat (in which Olivier Giroud got sent off) that might just dent the Gunners’ confidence ahead of this match.
In short, this one really could go either way, but we think that Mourinho will get the best out of his team – as he tends to against Arsene Wenger’s men – and we’d be backing the home side at very good value odds of 9/1.
Whether you agree with us or not, one thing’s for sure: backing either side at those enhanced prices represents top betting value, to get over to Coral, take your pick, then sit back to enjoy what could be a very intriguing game of football!
