Juventus v Tottenham – Juventus to Win – 10/11

It’s a great time to be a Spurs fan at the moment. Mauricio Pochettino has the team playing football of the highest calibre and their young, exciting players have served it up to some of the best teams in Europe in recent years. Tuesday night’s match against Juventus is another great chance for Tottenham to test themselves against one of the very best but it may not end up well for them.

Juve are on a wonderful run of form, are incredibly strong at home and have an extra day to prepare compared to Tottenham. Pochettino’s side have every chance of making it through the tie but to do so they’ll surely have to overcome a deficit as Juventus should make the most of their home advantage.

Basel v Man City – Man City to Win and Over 3.5 Goals – 2/1

At the age of just 47, Pep Guardiola has already won more than most managers could even dream of winning in an entire career. He is rightly held up as one of the best football managers in the world and yet Champions League away matches have long been an area in which the great man could improve.

He admitted to making mistakes in big away matches at Barcelona and Bayern Munich and is desperate to ensure he avoids similar mistakes at Man City. The Citizens are the clear favourites to beat Basel. While they should oblige favourite backers, Basel will be in this game which should improve it as a spectacle. Expect a win for Man City and plenty of goalmouth action in Switzerland.

Real Madrid v PSG – The Draw – 13/5

The owners of PSG have long looked to replicate the sort of dominance that Real Madrid have enjoyed on European football. The French side may be looked upon as upstarts by more established European superpowers like Real but the team available to Unai Emery is as good as any other in the Champions League.

While PSG have made a mockery of Ligue 1 with their performances this season, Real Madrid have struggled badly. Zinedine Zidane is in need of a very big win but his position may come under even more scrutiny on Wednesday if PSG manage to leave the Spanish capital with a point.

FC Copenhagen v Atletico Madrid – Atletico Madrid to Win to Nil – 5/4

Atletico Madrid did not enjoy their time in the Champions League this season. Having established themselves as a major player at the pinnacle of European football, Diego Simeone’s men struggled badly and were eliminated at the group stage.

They may see themselves as a Champions League team but Atleti know have to focus 100% on the Europa League. That won’t be tough with the demanding Simeone in charge so expect Atletico to take control against FC Copenhagen and put one foot in the next round with an away win to nil.
