Liverpool v West Ham – Liverpool to Win to Nil – Evens
Although Liverpool have the attacking quality to score multiple goals against any opposition, there are still concerns about their defence when it comes to winning tournaments at the top level. However, are we all a little too critical of Liverpool’s defending?
Jurgen Klopp’s men have certainly improved at the back since the signing of Virgil van Dijk and they’ve conceded just nine league goals at Anfield all season.
West Ham have shown an aptitude for digging in and defending against the Premier League’s best teams since David Moyes took over but they will find it hard to get out and create chances on Saturday which makes Liverpool look good value to win to nil at evens.
Burnley v Southampton – The Draw – 2/1
Burnley are fortunate that they had such an incredible start to the season. The Clarets are without a league win since early December and are being dragged ever closer to the relegation mire. There’s no chance of Sean Dyche’s team being relegated but there’s no doubt that the shine is being taken off their season.
Southampton are on a similarly poor run of matches but they don’t have the bank of points that Burnley have to fall back on. The Saints are desperate for points and may well get one at Turf Moor. This is going to be a very tight game of few chances which could end up in a stalemate.
Brighton v Swansea – Brighton to Win – 11/10
Swansea have improved immeasurably since Carlos Carvalhal replaced Paul Clement. The Portuguese manager has utilised all of his experience and motivational skills to get something extra out of the Swans who have won their last three home matches.
If there’s room for Swansea to improve anywhere, it’s in their away form. They’ve won just twice on their travels all season and will find it tough to get anything out of a relegation six points against Brighton.
The Seagulls fans will be in good voice on Saturday and could see their team win back to back home matches for just the second time this season.
Crystal Palace v Tottenham – Tottenham to Win and Both Teams to Score – 11/5
There is no doubt that Roy Hodgson has had a positive impact on Crystal Palace since taking over at the club but they’re going through a tough spell at the moment. It’s not going to get any easier with matches against Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea to come.
Spurs did brilliantly to come back from two goals down against Juventus in the Champions League but were could not beat Rochdale in the FA Cup. Tottenham should have enough to inflict another defeat on Palace even if the Eagles manage to get on the scoresheet.
