Best Bets

Man City will probably come into this game 10 points behind Chelsea, assuming the title favourites beat Burnley earlier in the day. As such they simply have to win this one and the odds makers firmly expect them to, with the best odds on City just 1/3 with Coral. The draw is on offer at 5/1 with Tote whilst the Geordies are available at a massive 12/1 with BetVictor.

City have been poor by their high standards at home, losing to Arsenal and Stoke already and managing just a draw against both Hull and Burnley (and more forgivably Chelsea too). They ended a run of five games without a win in their last Premier League game when they came from a goal down to win 4-1 at Stoke and that will have boosted their confidence, as will the form of Sergio Aguero. With Yaya Toure back in the fold and their new signing Wilfried Bony also available they will still feel they can put pressure on Chelsea but they will have to win most of their remaining games to do so.

Three days after this they have a home Champions League game against Barcelona but they will not rest players for this one. Newcastle, of course, have no such European concerns and are unbeaten in three, picking up five points. However, whilst Palace away was a test, it’s a huge step up here and with their record against the big teams, especially away from home, very poor, we can only see one result here.

This will be the Magpies’ fifth and final game away at the top five and their current record is played four, lost four, conceded 13, scored two. They lost 3-1 at Man United and 4-1 at Arsenal and we predict a similar outcome here. Newcastle have scored in their last four games and given City’s defence on home soil ranks just the sixth best in the Premier League we fancy the away side will score, with 3-1 our correct score betting tip at nice odds of 11/1 with Bet365. For something safer head to Coral, who go a standout 2/1 that City win and both teams score.
