Manchester City v Leicester City Preview, Tips and Betting Offers, 6th February 2016, Premier League

Leicester City head to the Etihad in pole position but given that they have back to back trips to face Manchester City and Arsenal it remains to be seen how long they can keep their incredible run of form going.

Manchester City v Leicester City Betting Tips

The Foxes find themselves three points clear at the top of the league having beaten Liverpool 2-0 in midweek in what was a classic Leicester City performance in the sense that it was full of hard work and passion with Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy making the difference going forwards and if Manchester City are to win this one then they will have to shackle Riyad Mahrez effectively nearly every attacking move passes through the Algerian. Their win at the King Power was revenge for a defeat that they suffered at Anfield back in December and that game was only one of two defeats that they have suffered all season and they are certainly hard to beat.

That was in evidence earlier in the season when everyone expected Manchester City to blow Leicester away when they visited the King Power at the back end of December but instead the hosts clung to a 0-0 draw and in truth, Claudio Ranieri’s side will feel as if they did enough to win the game. A win on Saturday would set them up nicely as we enter the finals stages of the season, but we can’t see them getting anything out of this trip to the Etihad.

That’s because Maneul Pellegrini’s (for the time being!) side have been in great form at home in the league and whilst they have been struggling on the road and they were made to work very hard for their 1-0 win over Sunderland in midweek. If they offer up as many chances to Leicester as they did in that game to the Black Cats then Joe Hart will certainly be a busy man, but we’re backing them to tighten up at the back in front of their own fans, although we’d be surprised if they were able to keep a clean sheet given the way that Leicester have been playing lately.

The City defence will also have their hands full with Jamie Vardy who has started to hit the back of the net again after going through something of a goal drought after his incredible scoring run earlier in the season. Any striker in the world would have been proud of the goal he struck against Liverpool in midweek and we think that he will get amongst the goals again this weekend as the former Stocksbridge Park Steels man looks to propel his side to the title.
