The Players Championship Tips and Betting Offers, Thursday 10th May 2018, The Stadium Course, TPC Sawgrass
Dustin Johnson is one of the few golfers playing at the Players Championship to head into the tournament with trepidation. While every one of his 133 world class competitors in the field is excited about their prospects of contending at TPC Sawgrass, Johnson will be worried about the prospect of losing his position at the top of the world rankings.
The strength of the field this week means there are a huge amount of ranking points to play for and DJ has never finished in the top 10 in Ponte Vedra. While Johnson may be in for a tough week, all golf fans are promised a great one at the tournament known as the fifth major.

The Players Championship Betting Tips 2018
Odds correct at the time of writing and are subject to change.
Jordan Spieth is one of the players who can usurp Dustin Johnson at the very top of the world rankings and given just how much he loves the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, he could well be worth backing to win the title at 16/1 with Bet365.
Spieth may not offer immediate appeal as one of the favourites given that he’s missed the cut on each of his last three starts at the Players Championship but those missteps have not dampened the strength of his feelings for the Stadium Course. He’s been quoted as saying “I think the course plays really well for me if I’m on my game” and there is no doubt that the three time major champion is on his game at the moment.
The Texan’s last two individual starts yielded finishes of third with the latter coming in the Masters. Spieth has been struggling with his putting for a while now (which is jarring for many given that many believe his putting to be the strongest part of his game) but approach play and short game are the most important elements to focus on at the Stadium Course and he’s looking good in each of those areas. Spieth’s politeness can mask his burning desire to be the very best golfer in the world and he looks well placed to remind the competition just how good he is by winning the 2018 Players Championship.
Spieth’s recent problems at the Stadium Course show just how easy it is for the Pete Dye design to gobble up players of all standards. The challenge posed by the 7,189, par 72 layout only got tougher last year following an extensive renovation project but while many floundered, Rafa Cabrera Bello flourished. The Spaniard put a missed cut on debut behind him to finish fourth 12 months ago and should be confident of another run at the title this week.
Cabrera Bello ranks inside the top 10 for strokes gained approaching the green on the PGA Tour this season. It’s that ball striking, shot making prowess that makes him so dangerous to the competition and that makes him stand out for an each way bet at a very generous 110/1 with Betfred.
