Tottenham v Arsenal – Tottenham to Win – Evens

The biggest game of the Premier League weekend is also the very first game of the weekend. Arsenal make the short trip to Wembley Stadium – where they have an incredible recent record – to take on fierce rivals Tottenham.

Arsene Wenger has overseen victories in the FA Cup and the Community Shield at Wembley in recent seasons but Saturday’s early game will be an entirely different proposition with close to 80,000 Spurs fans in attendance.

Tottenham are arguably playing their best football of the season currently, while Arsenal remain incredibly unpredictable. This should be close but Spurs can get revenge for their defeat at the Emirates earlier in the season.

Everton v Crystal Palace – The Draw – 21/10

Sam Allardyce has been around football long enough to know that you cannot risk alienating your own fans. Why, then, did he suggest that Everton should be writing this season off? Everton fans know better than anybody how miserable the current campaign has been so surely Allardyce’s job is to try and win them over.

Given the current malaise around the club, there is every chance that Everton will drop points against Crystal Palace. The Eagles’ own unconvincing form makes an away win look unlikely. A point, however, is a very real possibility for Roy Hodgson’s men.

Huddersfield v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to Win – 13/10

It’s not getting any better for Huddersfield. The Terries now find themselves in the bottom three following a run of eight games without a win and five straight defeats. Next up for David Wagner’s team is the visit of Bournemouth to the John Smith’s Stadium.

Bournemouth have shown the way to all the teams below them. They too were right in the heart of the relegation dogfight before pulling themselves together and going on a run of good form. Eddie Howe’s men are playing as well now as at any time in the last few seasons and they should further distance themselves from the bottom three by beating the hapless Huddersfield at a generous 13/10.

Liverpool v Southampton – Liverpool to Win and Over 2.5 Goals – 13/8

Liverpool may feel unfortunate not to beat Tottenham at Anfield last weekend. However, they were lucky to get a point given Spurs’ dominance for much of the second half. They’ll need to be better on Sunday against Southampton who are showing signs of turning the corner.

The Saints may well take advantage of the defensive problems that have long dogged Jurgen Klopp’s team. The big question, though, is whether their own defence will hold firm. This should be an entertaining game which the away team may just squeeze through with a big three points for their Champions League ambitions.
