Netherlands v England Tips and Odds, 6th June 2018

  • England Win at 7/5 with bet365
  • England Win & BTTS at 19/5 with BetVictor

England v Netherlands Preview

After several years of hurt, Holland have made a vast improved under Koeman. The Oranges had a superb Nations League campaign, beating both France and Germany to first place in League A, Group 1.

England, meanwhile, won their last two group games against Spain (3-2) and Croatia (2-1) to finish top of their respective table. The Three Lions picked up seven points, winning two, drawing one and losing one of four. Along the way, the English scored six and shipped five.

England are certainly in good form under Southgate, and 7/5 (bet365) for an English win looks good value. We also like the look of England to win and both teams to score at 15/4 with BetVictor. Betfred’s 8/1 for the Three Lions to win 2-1 also stands out. Skipper Harry Kane is expected to play a part in Guimaraes, and the Tottenham Hotspur man is priced at 15/4 with bet365 to open the scoring, while the Three Lions are available at 10/11 (Ladbrokes) to score first in this semi.

  • England Win at 7/5 with bet365
  • England Win & BTTS at 19/5 with BetVictor
  • England to Win 2-1 at 8/1 with Betfred
  • England to Score First at 10/11 with Ladbrokes
  • Harry Kane to Score First at 15/4 with bet365

Holland were excellent during the group stage of the Nations League. Not many people gave the Netherlands much of a chance of topping League A, Group 1 before a ball was kicked, but they deserve to be in the last four. After starting with a 2-1 defeat to the French at the Stade de France, Holland beat Germany and France before drawing 2-2 in Gelsenkirchen on the final day to go through with seven points.

England also impressed in the group stage, as Southgate’s troops responded expertly well from their opening day defeat to Spain at Wembley Stadium by going on to claim seven points from their last three League A, Group 4 fixtures. The Three Lions, who reached the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-finals last summer, have won each of their last five. Meanwhile, since that defeat to the Spaniards, England are unbeaten in seven, winning six and drawing one. Holland are a formidable outfit these days, but the English could edge this one in Guimaraes.

England to win 2-1 at 8/1 with Betfred is tempting, but the real value is in BetVictor’s 19/5 for the Three Lions to win and both teams to score on Thursday!
