Ryder Cup Tips and Betting Offers, 30th September 2016, Hazeltine National Golf Club
Rory McIlroy was happy enough with his work last week. The Northern Irishman’s win at the Tour Championship bagged both the tournament win and the FedEx Cup but it did more than just provide a big win for Rory. It fired up the 11 other players on Darren Clarke’s Ryder Cup team ahead of this week’s Ryder Cup. They were all watching Europe’s best player pick up a big win in on American soil and are now more desperate than ever to go and do the same thing in the best team event in all of golf.

Ryder Cup Betting Tips
As well as being boosted by McIlroy’s big win, Team Europe are on a hot streak in the Ryder Cup. They’ve won each of the last three tournaments but will have to be at their very best in order to win a fourth Ryder Cup on the spin.
When you look through the American team it is very hard to find any weak links. Davis Love III has only two rookies in his team and can call upon some of the very best golfers in the world. One of the main concerns about the American team is that they need to win quickly or they will start losing interest in the Ryder Cup.
However, many of those in the current team are untainted by previous defeats. There also looks to be a strong team spirit in the American ranks with the likes of Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Brandt Snedeker having a harmonious impact on their teammates.
Team spirit has long been a huge strength of the Europeans. They’ve won the Ryder Cup on numerous occasions when going into the tournament as the underdogs and that is once again the task which faces them. Darren Clarke will be slightly concerned with the fact that six of his players are Ryder Cup rookies and that there appears to be a lack of top class match play experience. But, there is no doubting the quality of the 12 players.
Europe have two of this season’s major champions, the FedEx Cup champion, the Olympic champion and players who are used to winning the Ryder Cup. If Clarke and his vice captains can instil a winning spirit into the rookies and be clever with the pairings on the first two days, Europe can once again win against the odds. Certainly, the tourists look like the value bet at 2/1 with Betfair.
In order to improve their chances of winning, the American Ryder Cup committee set up a task force after their humbling defeat at Gleneagles two years ago. One of the main recommendations of that group was that the Americans try to ape the sort of team spirit which has served their European opponents so well. That is one of the main reasons why the very popular Rickie Fowler was given a wildcard. After an average season, Fowler can prove his worth in this unique event by being the top American points scorer at 12/1 with Sky Bet.
